University Sitters connects families to pre-screened baby sitters and nannies in their communities. We quickly fill job requests for child care in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and Long Beach.  

Families can choose between our sitting service with fixed rates and billing with college educated sitters or choose to set their own criteria and have us screen for the ideal nanny.  Nannies for placement are highly experienced and may or may not be college educated, depending on family preference.  

Our mission is to provide a simple and secure way for families to find child care.  We do our best to keep the same sitters with the same families and find great success when consistent schedules are requested. 

Nanny placements are available as well.  We will assist you through the process of finding a great in home provider based on your personal specifications of price, qualification and personality.  Please inquire for more details and the general cost is 10% of the gross cost of the child care for the commitment period desired.  Short and long term care are available as well as full and part time.  

Every University Sitter meets these qualifications:

• University student pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree or is a recent graduate of at least a bachelor’s degree
• Has been interviewed by the University Sitters staff for professionalism and experience
• Had at least two references checked by University Sitters
• Has a car and a clean DMV record (1 minor infraction allowed) 

How it works:

Step 01   Create a family profile using the link "Subscribe"

Step 02   Request a sitter using the link "Book a Sitter"

Step 03   Phone or email confirmation of booking from the chosen sitter

Step 04   Sitter arrives.  Hours and bills are sent you families via email after service, and no cash is exchanged at the end of the booking.  

Santa Barbara Babysitter Rates:

$30 monthly subscription fee for unlimited bookings and 24 hour evening and weekend guarantee or $15 booking fee per day

$13.50/hour for one child

+ $2 per hour for each additional child

Hotel rates may vary, please inquire for more information

Long Beach Babysitter Rates:

$26 monthly subscription fee for unlimited bookings and 24 hour evening and weekend guarantee or $13 booking fee per day

$11.50/hour for one child plus $1.50 per hour for each additional child

Los Angeles Babysitter Rates:

$30 monthly subscription fee for unlimited bookings and 24 hour evening and weekend guarantee $15 booking fee per day

$15/hour for one child plus $1.50 per hour for each additional child

San Diego Babysitter Rates:

$30 monthly subscription fee for unlimited bookings and 24 hour evening and weekend guarantee or $15 booking fee per day 

$13.5 per hour for one child

+ $1.5 additional dollars per child per hour

Subscription guarantees carry over to each region for clients traveling within our service regions as well as service with just 24 hours notice for nights and weekends.

*Bookings made within 24 hours notice are subject to an additional 5$ booking fee for non-subscribers 

*Cancellations within 24 hours of the start time are subject to the three hour minimum booking or 75% of the total request based on the amount of children registered.  Cancellations after a confirmation but outside of 24 hours of the start time are subject to a 10$ charge.
